Welcome to the Pre-School Room
Play is the central component of our preschool program. It is the fundamental medium for young children’s learning and is central to an effective preschool curriculum. Our pre-school programs adhere to Queensland Preschool Curriculum Guidelines. Preparing your child for transition to primary school is a integral aspect of our programs.
Play fosters all aspects of the child’s development: emotional, social, intellectual, linguistic and physical. Through a play based curriculum our programs provide a balance of rich and varied learning experiences that are appropriate to the ever changing needs, interests, skills and development of every child as well as assisting in their educational development.
Through ongoing observations of every child our programs are designed to be open ended and flexible so that they can be constantly monitored, evaluated and modified to assess and assist with each child’s development.
Throughout the day your child will be immersed in experiences which will encourage them to:
- Develop self-confidence and self-help skills (independence)
- Develop acceptable and appropriate social skills to help build and maintain positive relationships with others
- To encourage language development in all areas such as reading, writing, listening and speaking
- To respect cultural diversity of others
- To encourage creative expression
- To encourage children to explore, questions and reason to develop independent thinking and problem solving abilities
- To encourage and demonstrate sound health, safety and nutritional practices.
- To enhance physical development
